My old desktop computer by Northwestern-Viola13 My old desktop computer by Northwestern-Viola13
This is the PC my family used between 2000 and 2011.  Having no kids my age living on my street since 2005, it became like a friend to me until I found out I had Asperger's syndrome and was able to understand why I was socially awkward, and what I could do to cope and fit in better.

Unfortunately, at Christmas 2010, it picked up a virus from my flash drive that got it from school.  It got so screwed up that even after I got it cleaned up, a few months later it started crashing all the time because the virus had damaged it's motherboard, causing it to be unable to access all of it's RAM, and making running websites today downright impossible.

I have thought about getting it refurbished so I can have it as my computer in college.  After all, it was my only friend in elementary school, and I'd love to have it back for college when I'm miles from home.

When my parents bought it in 2000, I was three.  I barely remember the computer before it-all I know was it was some Korean brand.  I can actually remember parts of my life from when I was one if I really think, but I only see scenes in still pictures, and not the memory in motion... But I only started using the computer when I was five, so this is basically the first one I really used, and then when my friends across the street moved away, there were no kids on my street, so the computer was all I had.

When we got it in 2000, it was considered a pretty powerful PC for that time (100 gig hard drive, 1 gig memory) and it ran XP.  Now it can't run anything higher than XP without more memory, and most sites and programs require it to use it's maximum RAM, and since the motherboard got all screwed up by the virus, it can't access it entirely.  Medion, the German brand still exists, though it's not as commonly found in the US anymore, unless you order it.  They apparently make really powerful gaming computers, even laptops with like a terabyte hard drive and sixteen gig RAM
